JCI Asia-Pacific conference
Ulaanbaatar Mongolia
June 8 - June 11, 2017

Greetings

Dear Conference Delegates and Honored Guests

It is with great honor and pleasure that I welcome you to Ulanbataar, Mongolia, the venue of the 2017 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference!

Mongolia is known as the Land of the Blue Sky, where at night, one can gaze upon the heavens and see five billion stars. It is a country gifted with an inimitable culture, a rich heritage, and a history thousands of years old.

Mongolia indeed is a unique destination for this year’s Asia-Pacific Conference. Our conference theme for this year is Hurai, Hurai!, which translates to a gathering for something good. This perfectly epitomizes our purpose of being at this year’s ASPAC – to ensure that we keep providing young people around the world the development opportunities for them to create positive change and impact.

Let me take this opportunity to thank and congratulate JCI Mongolia and the Conference Organizing Committee, the JCI Officers, the JCI Headquarters, the JCI Advisers, and all JCI Members for contributing immensely to the organization and success of this year’s Asia Pacific Conference. The credit rightfully belongs to all of you.

In closing, let me state that we are gathered in Mongolia not only to learn, but also to be inspired to act, to realize that we may come from different countries and cultures but share a common thread – that I am JCI, you are JCI, we are JCI – and together we can build a better future.

I sincerely thank you once again for your support and wish you all a wonderful conference!

Yours Sincerely,
MARC BRIAN LIM
2017 Asia and the Pacific Conference Chairperson, 2017 JCI Executive Vice President

Welcome to Mongolia, the land of eternal blue sky!

I am delighted JCI Mongolia is hosting 2017 JCI Asia-Pacific Conference in our historical and beautiful city of Ulaanbaatar. It is my great honor to introduce city of Ulaanbaatar. City of Nomads, Ulaanbaatar was founded in 1639 as a movable centre of nomadic culture. In 1778 it settled permanently at its present location, the junction of the Tuul and Selbe rivers. Before that it changed location twenty-eight times, with each location being chosen ceremonially. In the twentieth century, Ulaanbaatar grew into a modern prospering centre. With committed and passionate spirit, there is no doubt JCI Mongolia will host an outstanding JCI ASPAC for the members of the JCI Asia Pacific Area. We will accommodate you in best hotels of Ulaanbaatar city and all events are well planned to take a place in the best and modern venues.

You will be introduced to the only survived nomadic culture in the world as it used to be a thousand years ago, and will carry back unforgettable memory to your country which you will harvest from adventurous horse and camel trekking in the wilds and having a chance to watch 5 million stars in one glance. We, all the citizens of Mongolia, would like to welcome you from the bottom of our hearts and will serve our best for your convenience. I offer my full effort and support to the successful organization of the event. Welcome to 2017 ASPAC.

Sincerely yours,
Bayarmagnai Galsumiya
